Harbin Engineering University (HEU) is located in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. It is a comprehensive research university that focuses on engineering while also promoting coordinated development in disciplines such as science, management, and humanities. Founded in 1953 as the Naval Engineering Institute of the People's Liberation Army, the university was renamed Harbin Engineering University in 2000. HEU is well-known for its strong programs in Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, and Engineering Thermophysics.
